Julie Vom Buchenberg

Jule vom Buchenberg
Born 10/10/2006  NA 112 Prize 1, VJP 69, HZP 180 PennHIP .23/.27
We imported Jule and her brother Jerry from Germany.   Prior to coming across her litter, we made numerous trips to Germany to visit breeders and observe dogs at the German Club's events.  So far, I'm very pleased with her performance in the field tests and she has excellent hips.  Her conformation is very good but as with nearly all dogs, there is room for improvement.  She is a rather slender for a SM.  Given her really high Search scores, her slender shape is an asset for upland game hunting however she probably doesn't have the mass to retrieve some heavier animals as is often required of a German versatile hunting dog.

Jerry Vom Buchenberg

Jerry vom Buchenberg
Born 10/10/2006  NA 112 Prize 1, UT 196 Prize 1, VJP 71, HZP 175,  PennHIP ????
I imported this dog for Ken Hamele with the understanding that I would retain the breeding rights for him.  This is the first hunting dog Ken has trained and as you can see, he has done a great job. Jerry shares many of the attributes that Jule has. A little light in body mass but fast and strong in the field.

Jaegermeister
Born 07/20/1994  NA 102 Prize 2, UT 201 Prize 1
One of, if not the best, SMs I have owned. His nose, point, search and retrieve are all excellent plus he was a natural backing dog. Jaeger was only bred one time because he developed an autoimmune disease shortly there after. Not wanting to take the chance that his disease could be passed on, we pulled him from breeding. Even though he is getting up there in years, he still enjoys going out to the field and finding birds.  He has a little trouble hearing, as he did sometimes in his younger days, but now I think he really is a little deaf.

Jaeger passed away May 30, 2010  A very sad day ...

Tasha is the daughter of Jaeger. Given the risk that she would be a carrier for Jaeger's disease, we decided early on that she would never be bred. We did go ahead and run her through the Utility test NAVHDA tests.  In all fairness to Tasha, I was pretty depressed about Jaeger's condition and really didn't have my heart in her training.

Other Stud Dogs

In order to expand my choices of suitable studs to complement my bitches, I have imported frozen semen from stud dogs in Germany.  While all of them are excellent dogs in their own right, each has particularly strong points that set them apart from one another.
